Nathaniel Underwood received his BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and MFA in Painting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Underwood is an Assistant Professor of Illustration at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. He previously taught courses in illustartion, life drawing and painting at the Savannah College of Art and Design and the Columbus College of Art and Design.

With 15 years of experience he has provided illustrations for brands such as: AAA Auto Insurance, American Electric Power, Bed Bath and Beyond, Bob Evans, Bruegger’s Bagels, Burger King, Channel Lock, Cisco Technology, Charming Charlie, Frisch’s Big Boy, In N Out Burger, Net Jets, Net Motion, Popeyes Chicken, Rg Barry Brands, Sleep Number, Swatch, Sandiego Electric, The Melting Pot, Tim Hortons and many others.

Working as an artist, illustrator and educator. Underwood is also a fine artist. Represented by Sharon Weiss Gallery, his work can be found in numerous private collections including the Weaver Foundation N.C. and the Ohio University Eastern.
